Au Hasard - Pants Black & White Stripe

Cotton, derived from plants, is a renewable resource that is 100% natural. Unlike synthetic fabrics, cotton is biodegradable and does not contribute to microplastic pollution. It breaks down quickly in terrestrial and aquatic environments. Cotton's breathability and ability to avoid retaining odours mean it requires fewer washes between wears, saving time, money, water, and energy. This helps clothes and homewares last longer.

Significance in Clothing Manufacturing
Cotton accounts for almost 40 percent of clothing manufacturing worldwide. Known for its absorbency, softness, strength, and ease of care, cotton is a staple in the textile industry. Its hypoallergenic properties make it suitable for sensitive skin. The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) aims to promote sustainable cotton production, training millions of farmers in smarter farming practices to increase yields and reduce water and chemical use.

Care Guidelines
While you should always refer to your garment’s individual care label, here are some helpful guidelines.

• Washing: Machine wash on a gentle or normal cycle in cold water with like colours. Refer to care labels for specific instructions, especially for cotton blends.
• Drying: Air drying is ideal to prevent shrinking, but if using a dryer, select a low heat setting.
• Ironing: Use a medium to high heat setting, and steam or dampen the fabric for best results.

By following these care instructions, you can ensure your cotton garments stay fresh, vibrant, and comfortable for a long time.
